J. O. ARMSTRONG DIED SUNDAY

Lincoln Township Farmer Was Life-Long Resident Of County

John O. Armstrong, a well known Lincoln township farmer, died Sunday March 31, at a Winterset nursing home. He had been in failing health for some time.

Mr. Armstrong was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born near Peru, a son of George and Olive James Armstrong. His life was spent in farming. He was a member of the Peru Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Glenn, to whom he was married on Sept. 24, 1945. He also leaves three sons, Larry, aged 17 years, Gary, aged 14, and Ricky, aged 2 and one-half years; a daughter, by a previous marriage, Mrs. Faye Haines of Winterset, two brothers, Lester Armstrong of Omaha and Asa Armstrong of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Clydie Morgan of Peru, and Mrs. Birdie Ogburn of Marshall, Tex.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the First Christian church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor the Rev. William E. Bowles. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
