FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Mrs. Harriett Armstrong, a native of Winterset, was found dead last Friday, May 12, in her apartment at Los Angeles, where she had lived for many years. Death was caused by a heart attack and she had been dead for several days before her body was discovered.

Mrs. Armstrong was 80 years of age. She was the former Harriett Walters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Walters, and was born in Winterset June 7, 1886. She moved from here to Des Moines, then to California.

Nearest surviving relatives are four sisters, Mrs. Nora Clark of Winterset, Mrs. Bessie Thomas of Santa Rosa, Calif., Mrs. Edna Salley of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Grace Kelly of Des Moines; and two brothers, Charles Walters of Des Moines and Lee Walters of Minneapolis.Funeral services and burial were held Tuesday in Los Angeles.
