RoseMary Allen, Winterset

Services for RoseMary Allen, 65, Winterset, who died Aug. 26 at her residence, were held Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. Burial was at the Booneville Cemetery.

Born in Warren County, July 31, 1921, she was the daughter of Ben and Estella Hensen. She was married in Des Moines on Nov. 15, 1947, to Mike Allen.

Mrs. Allen lived in Warren County most of her life and was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She had been a cook for the Summerset Haven facility.

Survivors include her husband; sons, Robert of Des Moines, John of Greer, Ariz., Billy of Glenwood, Jerry of Camp LeJuene, N.C., and Terry and Larry both of Winterset; daughters, Jean Pearson of Des Moines, Betty McVay of Phoenix, Ariz., Becky Dillinger of Loveland, Colo., and Opal Summers of Hagersville, Ind; a brother, Frank Henson of Minot, Wis.; sisters, Lucille Anspach, Lorraine Mingaman and Dorothy Bussanmas, all of Des Moines; Bernice Allen and Evonne Senhen, both of Winterset; and Berniece Walker of Indianola; and 17 grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, three infant children and two brothers.

WINTERSET, IA. – RoseMary Allen 65, of Winterset died of cancer Tuesday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born in Warren County, where she lived most of her life. She had been a cook for Summerset Nursing Home. She was a member of Patterson United Methodist Church in Patterson and United Methodist Women.
