Betty Irene Allen, rural Lorimor

Services for Betty Irene Allen, 59, a long time Madison County resident who died January 15 at Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, January 18 at the Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Dorothy Peterson, of Red Oak, Iowa officiating.

Burial was set Barney Cemetery in Madison County.

Born at Englewood, Colo., May 21, 1923, she was the daughter of Vincent and Susan Read Longshore. She was a Madison County resident from 1946 to 1974 before moving to Union County.

She married Donald Warren November 27, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois. He died May 15, 1963. She was married to Wayne Allen January 9, 1964 in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband; a step-son, Bob Allen of Marshalltown; a mother-in-law Belva Warren, of Winterset; daughters, Donna Phillips, of Peru, Beatrice Iiams of Murray; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death by her parents and two sisters.

Betty Allen, Lorimor-Dies

Betty Irene Allen, 59, of Lorimor, died Sunday January 16, 1982 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Mrs. Allen was born May 21, 1923 in Englewood, Colo. to Vincent and Susan (Reed) Longshore. On November 27, 1942 she married Donald Warren in Waukegan, Ill. He passed away on May 15, 1963. She then married Wayne Allen on Jan. 9, 1964 in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Mrs. Allen moved to Union county from Madison county in 1974. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Wayne; a stepson, Bob Allen of Marshalltown; two daughters, Donna Phillips of Peru and Beatrice Iiams of Murray; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Belva Warren of Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and two sisters.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Dorothy Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Barney Cemetery.
