Donald H. Afflack, Earlham

Donald H. Afflack, 96, of Earlham died April 6, 2002.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 9, at Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham with the Rev. Dr. Ray Martin officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Don Afflack was born Oct. 20, 1905, to Charles Raymond and Mabel (Fairholm) Afflack of Massena. In 1910, his family moved to a farm near Earlham, where he attended school in the Earlham School District. He graduated from Earlham High School in 1924. He attended Coe College and in 1930, graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatry and Foot Surgery. He married Helen Davis in 1934. Helen died in 1963. He later married Kathleen Meredith in 1965. Kathleen died in 1995. Don practiced his profession in Des Moines, Las Vegas, Nev. and Parkersburg, W.Va., retiring in 1970. He was the first podiatrist to be appointed to the West Virginia Medical Licensing Board. He returned to Earlham in 1981.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, a brother and a daughter.
