1980Services Monday For Lela Adams
Lela Martha Adams of Creston, formerly of Winterset, died Thursday July 31, at Sunset Point Resort in Cohasset, Minn., at the age of 83. She had lived in Winterset until moving to Creston in 1929.
Born on Dec. 9, 1896, in Winterset, she was the daughter of Roy and March Coakley Rogers. She was united in marriage to Clyde Adams on Dec. 25, 1917, in Winterset. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Christian Church in Creston and the Kensington Club for 61 years.
Surviving are two children, Shirley Snodgrass and Eileen McCann, both of Creston; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Blanche Abrahams and Betty Braman, both of Winterset, Marie Crawford of Fort Dodge and Wilma Nauman of Santa Monica, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and an infant sister.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at the First Christian Church in Creston with Rev. Lester Pearson officiating. Burial was at the Graceland Cemetery near Creston. Keating-Lindsay Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family asks memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church in Creston.
