Laura Francine Adams, 82, of Lake Elsinore, Calif., died of heart failure July 11, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A memorial service is planned in California at a later date. Burial of the cremains also will take place at a later date.

Laura Adams was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Madison County to Fred and Gertrude (Caudle) Allen. A 1938 graduate of Winterset High School, she had lived her entire adult life in California. Francine had worked as a lab technician for Shell Chemical for 29 years, retiring in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a son, Charles Wesley Adams of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; three sisters, Mae Baker of Winterset, Lucile Burkholder of Riverside, Calif., and Floy Torvid of Monrovia, Calif.; and two brothers, Herbert Allen, (wife Thelma) of Des Moines and Jack Allen (wife Muriel) of DeSoto, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
