Death of E. W. Arthur

Funeral services for E. W. Arthur of Omaha were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Tidrick funeral home, conducted by Reverend A. P. Keast of the Methodist church. Mr. Arthur has often visited in Winterset. His wife, former (unreadable) Mrs. Mary Couch of Winterset.

Mr. Arthur died Sunday morning at his home in Omaha, death being caused by heart trouble. Mrs. Arthur found him at about 8 o’clock in the morning sitting in his car in the garage. He had gone to the garage some little time before to clean the car. The car was not running when he was found. He was holding a cigar in his hand, and evidently just started to light it.

Mrs. Arthur, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Arthur, a nephew, Mr. Campbell and Mr. Arthur’s stenographer and a salesman from the office, brought the body to Winterset for burial. The Masonic lodge had charge of the services at the cemetery.

A son, Robert Arthur preceded him in death in April.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur have made their home in Omaha for about forty years. Mr. Arthur had a merchandise brokerage office there.

E. W. ARTHUR DIES AT OMAHA, NEBR.

E. W. Arthur, 73, Omaha broker, was found dead in his garage Sunday morning by his wife. Mr. Arthur had been in the garage before breakfast, running the car to warm it. After breakfast he returned and when found was seated at the wheel of the car, a cigar in his hand. He was afflicted with high blood pressure; physicians say that his death was due to heart failure rather than monoxide gas poisoning.

Services for Mr. Arthur were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Tidrick funeral home conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast; burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Arthur who was Miss Lulu Snyder, is a former Winterset woman. Their only son, Robert Arthur. died about six months ago. The body was brought to Winterset for burial.
