Olive B. Payne, Earlham

Olive B. Payne, 87, died of a heart ailment December 12, 1992, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, December 16 at Earlham Church of Christ, with the burial at Penn Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Payne was born in Woodward and moved to Earlham in 1946. She was a homemaker and a member of Earlham Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Omer; three daughters, Betty Warren of Carlisle, Virginia Grove of Adair, and Joan Whitmire of Aledo, Ill.; a son, Truman Payne of Earlham; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church.

Olive Bernice Payne

EARLHAM-A funeral for Olive Bernice Payne, 87, of Earlham was held Dec. 16, 1992 at the Church of Christ at Earlham, with burial following at the Penn Center Cemetery near here. Mrs. Payne died of a heart ailment on Dec. 12 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines.

The daughter of Edwin and Lottie Wernli, she was born at Woodward on Feb. 3, 1905. She married Omer K. Payne on June 6, 1925 at Adel. She had lived at Earlham since 1946, and she was a member of the Church of Christ and the Madison County Farm Burearu.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by two sons, Thomas and Kenneth.

Survivors include her husband Omer; three daughters, Betty Warren of Carlisle, Virginia Grove of Adair and Joan Whitmire of Aledo, Ill.; a son, Truman of Earlham; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
