Lyle Archer, Winterset

R. Lyle Archer, 92, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment on May 10, 1996 at the Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services were May 14 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery. I.O.O.F. graveside services were held.

He was born in Calhoun County on April 28, 1904 to Benjamin and Mary J. (Adrian) Archer. He married Grace Dudney on May 6, 1924 in Creston. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Madison County most of his lifetime. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, and a 40 year member of the Oddfellows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one daughter; and five brothers.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son-in-law, Scott McDonald of Winterset; and one grandson.
