Richard Letz, Winterset

Richard Dale Letz, 82, died Jan. 2, 1995 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Jan. 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Bob Epperson will officiate with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, from noon until 8 p.m. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m.

He was born in Madison County on Oct. 18, 1912 to Richard E. and Marguerite (McIntyre) Letz. He married Ethel Grace Cumings in Polk County on Feb. 29, 1940. He was a retired farmer and a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Winterset. He was a member of the New Hope Christian Union Church (Ord). He was also a member of the Madison County Historical Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, four sisters; and one grandchild.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Georgia Lee Harpole of Winterset and husband Marshall, and Delores Ann Ashby of Denver, Co. and husband Ed; one brother, Clarence Letz of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
