Services Held For Former Resident

Raymond L. Wolfe died in a La Junta, Colorado hospital Tuesday, February 20th, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Friday at the Peacock Green Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Earl Miller, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Wolfe was born April 30, 1918 in Macksburg. He grew up in Iowa and was married to Rena Martin near Corning September 21, 1940. Mr. Wolfe farmed in Iowa until the family moved to La Junta in 1956 for his health.

Survivors include his wife, Rena, two sons AK2c Phillip Wolfe, stationed aboard the USS Coral Sea, Robert at home; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Reed of La Junta and Carol at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wolfe of Macksburg, a brother Lee and two grandchildren. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Those attending from this vicinity included Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wolfe, Lee Wolfe, Rex Schulz, Ernest Martin, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Herren of this vicinity and also Mrs. Velma Wolfe of Creston.
