DANIEL BOYCE, rural Winterset

Daniel Boyce of rural Winterset died Saturday, June 16, 1984, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of injuries he sustained in a car accident June 3rd north of Winterset. He was 78. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, June 19, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Lamborn officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Born on Dec. 18, 1905, in Madison County, he was the son of Marcus James and Grace Smith Boyce. He married Ailcye Agnes Robinett on June 21, 1939, in Winterset. She preceded him in death on June 3, 1984.

A lifetime resident of Madison County, he was a farmer and longtime weather observer for the Winterset Madisonian. He was a member of Gideon's International and Farm Bureau.

Survivors include two sons, David of Springfield, Ill., and Ronald of Manchester, Conn.; two brothers, Hugh of Sabatha, Kan., and Earnest of Ann Arbor, Mich; three sisters, Alma Bunnell of Cedar Falls, Ruth Stringham of Lawrence, Kan., and Bertha Jenks of Palo Alto, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ailyce, one brother Joe and one sister Martha Thomas.
