Ralph L. Feldman, 76, of Van Meter died March 1, 2004, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thurs., March 4, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Linda Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today (Wed., March 3) at the funeral home where the family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Van Meter Cemetery, with a luncheon to be held at the Van Meter Community Building following the committal.
Ralph Feldman was born July 15, 1927, in Litchfield, Neb., to Henry and Theda (Suntken) Feldman. On Nov. 12, 1952 he married Janice Cline in Winterset. Ralph was a farmer in his early life and was later employed by two local elevators prior to retiring in 1992.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lill Godown and Clara Sanders, and two brothers, Bill Feldman and Frank Feldman.
He is survived by his wife of Van Meter; two daughters, Sandra Shufelt of Earlham and Debra Jensen of Keokuk; two sons, Ronald Feldman of Earlham and Richard Feldman of Des Moines; a brother, Robert Feldman of Des Moines; and four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.
