IRA V. PAINTER DIES AT 93 YEARS

Native of Cass Caounty; Had Lived in Madison County For 54 Years

Ira V. Painter, a resident of Madison county for 54 years, died Saturday, May 27, at his home in Winterset. He was 93 years of age.

Mr. Painter was a native of Cass colunty, where he was born April 1, 1874, a son of Lewis and Mary Whitcomb Painter.

He was married July 18, 1895 to Ella Mae Fleming. Her death occurred 1955.

His active life was spent in farming.

Surviving are two sons, Ira Painter, Jr. of Sutherland, Nebr., and Verne Painter of Grand Island, Nebr.; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah McNamara of Winterset, Mrs. Blanche Jones of Iowa City and Mrs. Genevieve Carter of Spring Hill. He also leaves 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Herman Grulke of Winterset. Two sons preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in Oakwood cemetery at Lewis.
