Services for Clarence H. Baker, 83, Macksburg, who died Sept. 25, 1986, at Iowa Methodist Center in Des Moines, were held Saturday, Sept. 27, at Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Morrow officiating. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery.
Born at Osage County, Kans., on Aug. 28, 1903, he was the son of Rutherford and Rosetta Markley Baker. He was a member of the roads department for both Madison and Union counties.
On June 3, 1933, he was married to Myrtilla M. Witt. He lived 45 years in Macksburg and was a Madison County resident for 70 years. He was a member of the Free Methodisst religion.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald of Branson, Mo.; a half-brother, Charles Baker of Ridgecrest, Calif.; sisters, Hazel Knouf of Des Moines, and Florence Stifel of Selah, Wash.; half-sisters, Aleita McChesney of Norwalk, Grace Carter of St. Smith, Ark., Ruth Bush of Macon, Mo., Elsie Allen of Winterset, Wanda Correll of Marlette, Mich., and Katie Sprouse of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two half sisters and two half brothers.
