Funeral services were held Monday, July 10, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Thomas A. Lewis, 74, who died Friday, July 7, 1978, at Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Indianola, Iowa on July 12, 1903, the son of Frank Leslie and Belle Hurst Lewis, and was a local resident for 40 years. Mr. Lewis was a resident of Booneville at the time of his death, having lived in St. Charles.
A farmer, retired since 1967, Mr. Lewis was a past member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge and affiliated with the Booneville Methodist Church.
His marriage to Doris T. Waller took place December 2, 1923, at Indianola. She survives her husband.
Other survivors include a son, Frank E. Lewis of Belvidere, Ill. and a daughter, Alberta R. (Mrs. Joe) Bruns of Adair. Also seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Harriett L. Utsler, his parents and two brothers, Homer and Barnett.
Officiating at Monday's funeral was Rev. Scott Grotewold of Winterset. Burial was made at the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
