Winterset Madisonian - March 1912

Margaret M. Wilkinson was born in Pike county, Ill., Jan. 20, 1833 and died March 7, 1912.

She came with her parents to Madison county in the spring of 1847, where she lived until a few years ago, when she moved to Rock Island, Ill., and from there to Mound Valley, Kansas, where she lived with her son, John, father of Mrs. Wm. Jackson of this county, until her death.

On. Oct. 24, 1849, she was married to David Fleener. Of a large family of children, seven are still living, Clarissa, John, Samuel, Mary, Martha, Sidney and Margaret.

She was a sister of A. W. and Sidney Wilkinson of this county.

Her body was brought here for burial last Saturday. The services were held at 10:30 a.m. from the Methodist church of which she had been a member since early life, Rev. A. A. Walburn officiating.
