Arlie Howell, 105, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment April 5, 1997 at Care Center North in Winterset. Funeral services will be today, Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home in winterset. Pastor Jon Gaul will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Terre Haute, Ind., on Oct 1, 1891 to George and Anna (Holmes) Baker. She married Dorwin C. Howell on Aug. 21, 1926 in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Madison County for the past 50 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, and four sisters.

Surviving relatives include one son, Lloyd Howell and wife Lucretia of Sun Ciity, Ariz.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
