Services for Alfred F. Schirm, 92, Winterset, who died Jan. 24 at the Winterset Care Center North where he resided, were held at the Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield Jan 26 with the Rev. William E. Olmsted of the Greenfield United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was at the Canby Cemetery.

Born Aug. 11, 1892 at Atkins, Iowa, he was the son of Matthew and Anna Rammelsburg Schirm. He was married to Blanche Tannatt on Jan. 17, 1917 and the couple farmed in Adair and Madison counties and moved to Winterset in 1943.

Survivors include sons, Ellsworth and wife Mildred, and Lloyd and wife Doris, all of Winterset, and Robert and wife Evelyn of Urbandale; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Schirm was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister and two brothers.
