M. R. Tidrick, Winterset, retired merchant; born in Guernsey county, Ohio, in 1833, and came to this State in 1852; in 1853 went to California and spent five years, and returned to this State in 1858, and settled in this county in 1860; owns 160 acres of land; he held the office of county clerk six years; he enlisted in the 3rd Iowa Infantry in the late war and was the first man to enlist from this county; he married Miss Mary A. Fisher in 1863; she was born in Beaver county, Pennsylvania; has seven children: Charles A., Jessie, Elsie, Fred M., Harry G., Jennie and George F.
