B. R. St. John, Monroe twp., farmer, Sec. 7; P.O. McPherson; born in New York in 1808, and moved from there to Ohio in 1834, and then emigrated to Iowa in 1845 and settled in Lee county, and lived there until he came to this county in 1870; he owns a farm of 160 acres; he married Miss Polly Spears in 1849; she was born in Indiana; they have eleven children: Samuel, Irwin, Harmon D., Winfield S., Charles F., Ida, Abraham L., Anna B., Royal, Perlette and Gertie.
