J. M. Runkle, South twp., farmer, Sec. 1; P.O. Patterson; born in Bartholomew county, Indiana; came to this county in 1851; was in the late war; enlisted in Co. F, Fourth Iowa infantry; he enlisted from 1861 to 1863; he enlisted in the one hundred day service in 1864; was wounded at Chickasaw Bayou; he married Verrella, daughter of Joseph Breeding, September 4, 1870; a native of Kentucky; they have no family.
