Jacob Riegal, Jefferson twp., farmer, Sec. 26; P.O. Winterset; born in Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, January 1, 1798; his parents removed to Jefferson county, Ohio, in 1806, where he lived until 1854, when he came to Iowa, and located in Van Buren county; he came to this county, and located where he now lives in 1856; was married September 25, 1822, to Annie Angel, a native of Frederick county, Maryland; they have had thirteen children, ten of whom are still living: Margaret, Sarah, Lovina, Daniel, Rose Ann, Elias, Jacob, George, Nancy and Henry S.; owns 173 acres of land; he helped build the first school-house in the township.
