A. Rever, Winterset, barber; born in Bordeaux, France, August 25, 1824; he emigrated to this country with his parents in 1827, and settled in Rochester, New York, and remained thee until his removal to Albany, New York, where he lived eight years and then went to Brooklyn, New York; in 1852 he emigrated to Chicago, and from this place to La Salle, Illinois, and then to Iowa City in 1853; he also lived for a time in Omaha, Council Bluffs and Des Moines; from the latter place he came to this county in 1872; he enlisted in the 22nd Iowa Inf., and served three years; in 1845 he married Miss Abbie Berry, a native of Ohio; she died in 1866; the fruits of this marriage were two children: Alexander and Abbie, both deceased; he married for his second wife, Sarah Garrison in 1866; she was born in Missouri.
