E. S. Mapes, Penn twp., farmer, Sec. 22; P.O. Earlham; owns 80 acres of land; born in
Cuyahoga county, Ohio, in 1832; came to Iowa in 1854; married in 1862 to Miss S. A. Robinson, of Ohio, has three children: Fred. O., Florence O. and Fannie O. - the first two twins; Mr. M. is an eastern man, who was a school-mate of the now celebrated Garfield; lived within one mile of him till he was 21 years old.
