Michael Loftus, farmer, Sec. 13; P.O. Bevington; born in the west of Ireland, in the year 1817; was married to Miss Bridget McGloon January 20, 1845; two years after he was married, he emigrated to Canada, where he lived for about eight years; then came to Des Moines, Iowa, where he lived for only two months, and came to this county where he now lives; he owns 229 ½ acres of land; they have a family of seven children, two sons and five daughters; William, Catharine, Maria, Margaret, Mike, Ann and Agnes.
