Fred Kukuk, Monroe twp., farmer, Sec. 21; P.O. Clanton; was born in Germany in 1833, and emigrated to America in 1854, and settled in Chicago and lived there five years and then removed to Henry county, Illinois; he came to this county in 1871; owns 220 acres of land; he married Caroline Frederick in 1859; she was born in Germany and died in 1869; he afterward married her sister, Ricka Frederick, in 1869; she was also born in Germany; their family consists of six children: Charles, Hanna and Sarah by his first marriage; Matilda, William Henry and Lucy by his second marriage; lost one son, John.
