James V. Kirk, Monroe twp., farmer, Sec. 30; P.O. Kasson; was born in Morrow county, Ohio, in 1843, and was raised there; he enlisted in the Twenty-fourth Ohio infantry, during the late war, and served until the regiment was mustered out; he came to this county in 1872; owns a farm of 132 acres; hold office of postmaster; he married Miss Mattie Hamblin in 1875; she was born in Ohio.
