Jas. Culbertson, Grand River twp., farmer, Sec. 12; P.O. Macksburg; was born in Virginia in 1814, and emigrated to Kentucky in 1839; he afterward removed to Missouri, and lived there four years, and then removed to Davis county, in this State, in 1846; he has lived in California two and one-half years; he owns 340 acres of land; he married Miss Jane Wiseman in 1833; she was born in Kentucky; has eight children: Sophia, Eliza A., Vina Jane, Sarah J., Clarissa, James P., John D. and Franklin P.
