Anderson, Mrs. Nancy, farmer, Sec. 14, Ohio twp., P.O. St. Charles; widow of Wm. Anderson, who was born in Harrison county, Ohio, December 1827; Mrs. Anderson's maiden name was Irwin; they were married in Harrison county, Ohio in 1852; she was born in county Monohan, Ireland in August, 1826; she came to the United States with her parents when about sixteen years of age; he came to Iowa and located in Mahaska county in 1847; he returned to Ohio to get married in 1852, and they came to this county in 1855; he died December 1, 1875, and left a family of one son and six daughters: Elizabeth, Melila J., Lucy S., Mary S., Lydia S., Theopholis I. and Mattie; Mr. Anderson served three years in the late war in Co. F, Thirty-ninth Iowa Infantry; owns 80 acres of land.
