Allen, W. B., farmer, Sec. 25, Scott twp., P.O. Winterset; born in Clinton county, Missouri, February 11, 1822; his parents moved to Davis county, Missouri, when he was about six years of age; came to Iowa in the fall of 1848 and located in the north part of Warren county; came to this county in the spring of 1855 and located where he now lives; owns 526 acres of land; he married Miss Margaret S. Allcock, January 9, 1853; she was born in Missouri; she died November 6, 1868; left three sons and one daughter: James M., Thomas J., Lucy J. and John L.; he married Frances, widow of Levi Ray (maiden name Allcock) November 25, 1868; she was a native of Missouri; has one son: Samuel E.; Mrs. Allen has two sons and one daughter: Joseph W., Sarah J. and Levi S.
