George W. Bowers, Ninety Years Old,
Passed Away Here --- Father of Mrs. A.R. Thompson --- Funeral Services Wednesday
George W. Bowers, aged father of Mrs. A. R. Thompson of Jamestown passed away at the Jamestown Hospital Saturday afternoon at 4:45 o’clock. His death having been caused from a stroke of apoplexy.
Mr. Bowers came to Jamestown two weeks ago from Doon, Iowa to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Thompson. Tuesday, he suffered a stroke of apoplexy and was taken to the hospital.
Mr. Bowers was born in Johnstown, Bresford county, Pennsylvania March 25, 1847. For many years he was a prominent and successful farmer and real estate dealer at Doon.
Survivors are his daughter, Mrs. Thompson, Jamestown, a daughter Mrs. Alice White, Minneapolis, who was also with her father when he passed away, and a daughter Mrs. George Lupton, San Jose, California, who will arrive Tuesday. A
daughter Mrs. Lottie Thompson passed away in May 1903 and was buried at Willow City. there are 12 grandchildren and a brother Ross Bowers, Des Moines, Iowa, and a sister Mr. S. R. Livermore, Willetts, California, who also survive.The body will be at the Eddy Funeral Chapel and friends may call this evening and Tuesday until 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The body, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Lupton, will be taken to Doon Wednesday
morning for funeral services which will be held Thursday. Burial will be made beside the grave of his wife who died in 1920.-----------

PRAYER SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR GEORGE W. BOWERS
Funeral and Burial Will be Held in Doon, Iowa For Aged Man.
Prayer services were held at the Eddy Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening at 5 o’clock for George W. Bowers aged father of Mrs. A. R. Thompson who died Saturday night.
Rev. Robert Clarke, rector of the Grace Episcopal church was in charge of the services which were attended by members of the family. There were many beautiful flowers.
The body was taken to Doon, Iowa, former home of Mr. Bowers where funeral services will be held Thursday and burial will be make in the Doon Cemetery beside the grave of his wife who died in 1920.
Accompanying the body were Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Jamestown, Mrs. Alice White, Minneapolis, and Mrs. George Lupton, San Jose, Calif. who arrived in Jamestown Tuesday.
George Thompson, Bismark, and Reginald Thompson, Wahpeton were here Tuesday also.
