Alfred Hansmann was born June 6, 1902, at George, IA, the son of Henry Sr. and Anna (Uliyzch) Hansmann. He was a long-time resident of the George area, and he attended country school there.

He married Alvina Siebrands on March 6, 1929, at George, IA. They farmed north of George until moving to town in 1956. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a resident of the George Community Good Samaritan Center since March of 1991. He died there on Saturday, Dec. 14, 1991, at the age of 89 years, six months and nine days.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter, Lavonne and husband Ted Moliter of Sibley, IA; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joan Hansmann of George, IA; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anna and husband O.R. Johnson of George, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Alvina; son Marlyn; infant daughter Evelyn; two brothers, Edward and Henry; one sister, Elsie and one infant sister.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church, George, IA, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery.
