Henry Edward Meiburg was born August 3, 1883 at Dennison, IA. At the age of 10 , in company with his parents William and Anna (Onnen) Meiburg, he moved to Ward, SD where they lived on a farm until 1904 when they came to Lyon county, Iowa. He was engaged in farming in this county since that time until his death.

On September 2, 1908 he was united in marriage to Meta Elizabeth Reimers. This union was blessed with five children, Raymond, Emma, Henrietta, Erwin, and Harley, all of Rock Rapids.

Mr. Meiburg was baptized in the Lutheran faith.

During his boyhood Mr. Meiburg suffered an injury to his limb which resulted in osteomyelitis. About three years ago this condition became acute and he was taken to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, for prolonged treatment. A recent accident developed new complications which led to his death at the Hull Hospital on August 21 at the age of 55 years and 18 days.

Mr. Meiburg was a good neighbor and respected citizen. Despite his illness he led an active life and was interested in everything about him. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and participated in many other community enterprises, being ever ready to lend a helping hand where he could give assistance. In his illness he was a patient sufferer, never complaining. His family will ever remember his as a loving husband and kind father.

Besides his wife and five children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Minnie Kroeger of Ward, SD, as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
