Jeanne Broesder, 63, of Rock Rapids died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Luverne (Minn.) Hospice Cottage.

Services were Monday, Jan. 10, at First Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Jeanne Baker was born June 15, 1941, at Valley Springs, S.D., the daughter of Lewis and Alice (Klein) Baker. When she was 5 years old, the family moved to Beaver Creek, Minn., where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from Beaver Creek High School in 1959, she continued her education at Rochester (Minn.) Junior College. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester seven years and became systems administrator. She played on the Rochester women's softball league and earned all-state honors as a pitcher. In 1973 she moved to Medford, Ore., to work. In 1974 she moved to Luverne, Minn.

On March 31, 1975, she married Kenneth Broesder at Alexandria, Minn. They lived in Alexandria until moving to Rock Rapids. In 1978 she began working in the administration office at Luverne (Minn.) Community Hospital and became the chief financial officer and executive controller.

Her husband died May 3, 2002. Due to illness, she retired in November 2004.

Survivors include one son Jered of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one granddaughter; her mother of Hills, Minn.; one brother, Gerrit of Alexandria, and two sisters Gertie Ann Van Batavia of Alexandria and Mrs. Fred (Carol Mae) Cook of Luverne.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband.
