Together the couple farmed near Inwood for 45 years, until retiring into Inwood in 1989. Ell died November 18, 2005.

Rena was an amazing cook and baker. She was best known for her homemade rolls which were a hit with whoever received some. Rena loved her family and was very good at keeping up with all the grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities. She loved crocheting and doing handwork. Rena made countless blankets, doilies, Christmas stockings, Christmas tree skirts, etc. for her family. She loved Christmastime and she was known for having the “Christmas” house where she had a Christmas light show synchronized to Christmas music.

She loved to be outside watching her flowers bloom and watching the birds. Rena was so blessed to be able to stay in her home because of the amazing and loving care she received from so many wonderful people; including, Jami, Caren, Abby, and Stacy.
