Doon, Iowa -- Elaine Kelderman, age 70, of Doon, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral Services will be 11 am Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Christian Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa, with Rev. Clifford Hoekstra officiating. Burial will be 2 pm Tuesday at the Hillside Cemetery in Doon. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Monday September 5 at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley, Iowa. Elaine Ruth Kelderman was born January 5, 1946 on the family farm near Alvord, Iowa, the daughter of Jake and Elsie (Herman) Boer. She attended country school and graduated from West Lyon High School. Elaine married Donald Kelderman on July 17, 1963 and together raised their family in Doon, Iowa. Elaine worked at the grocery store in Doon almost 40 years retiring in November of 2015.

She was a member of the Rock Rapids Christian Reformed Church, many church groups, Ladies American Legion Auxiliary and looked forward to her weekly fellowship with the “coffee ladies.”

Elaine is survived by her children; Heidi (John) Frey of Fulton, South Dakota and their children, Abby, Jacob (Lauren) and Micah; Holli (Bill) Dryfhout of Doon, Iowa and their children, Dylan and Kendra; Darren (Kandi) Kelderman of Wadena, Minnesota and their children, Zack (Avery), Tate and great-grandson, Tucker; Justin (Anji) Kelderman of Urbandale, Iowa and their children, Tyson, Peyton, Lindsey, and Cade; Jodi (Russ) Mogensen of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and their children, Tyler and Madelyn; brother, Clarence (Karyn) Boer of Rock Rapids, Iowa; sisters, Coba Schmahl of Cincinnati, Ohio and Evelyn (Werner) Berg of Brandon, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Spykerboer, Wilmanette Spykerboer, Jeanette Lems, and Audrey Kelderman.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Jake and Elsie Boer; brother, John Boer; and grandsons, Bryce Dryfhout and Sam Kelderman.
