Marie Ver Hoeven, 80, of Inwood died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at Fellowship Village, Inwood.

Memorial services were Monday, Oct. 25, at First Reformed Church, Inwood, with interment in Richland Cemetery.

Marie DeGroot was born April 26, 1924, near Ireton, the daughter of Dick and Jennie (DeWit) DeGroot.

On Jan. 24, 1946, she married Donald Ver Hoeven. They farmed near Ireton before moving to Brookings, S.D., in 1950. In early 1963, they began farming northeast of Inwood. She moved to Fellowship Village Feb. 10, 1999.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lyle and Darwin, both of Inwood; three daughters, Janice Ver Hoeven of Inwood, Mrs. Dennis (Sharon) DeKruyf of Sioux Center and Mrs. Bernie (Marlene) Niemeyer of Inwood; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one sister, Priscella Lockhorst of Ireton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Reuben.
