Lorin Clayton Kruger, 85, passed away on June 5, 2016.

He entered this world on September 16, 1930, in George, Iowa, born to Jake and Irene (Hassebrock) Kruger. He went to Country School and later graduated from Ashton High School in Ashton, Iowa. Lorin served two years in the Army, stationed in Germany.

He was married to Irene Lynn at St. Mary’s Church in Lakefield, Minnesota, in 1956. They lived on a farm south of Adrian, Minnesota and moved into Austin, Minnesota in 1969. Lorin loved fishing, sports, and spending time at the cabin in Winter, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Irene Kruger; and by his siblings: Lavina Foster, Fern O’Brien, Anita Jobes, and Arlin Kruger.

Lorin is survived by his wife, Irene Kruger; children, Timothy (Ellen) Kruger, Patricia (John) Brown, Kelly (Susan) Kruger, Michael Kruger; grandchildren, Jack Brown, Joshua Brown, Kayla Kruger; siblings, Leon (Marge) Kruger, Myrna Trei, Jan (Conrad) Krans; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. assembly lane No. 2 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services Beebe Chapel of New Richmond.
