Rock Rapids, Iowa - Paulina “Pauline” Knobloch, age 92 of Rock Rapids, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 7th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Lester, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6th with family present from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester.

Paulina Martha Knobloch was born on April 7, 1923 on the family farm rural Alvord, Iowa, the daughter of Dietrich and Julia (Koch) Knobloch. She grew up there and received her education at the Cleveland Township country school. Paulina started working for Brugmann Store in 1945 and worked there for twenty-nine years. She moved to Illinois and received her GED and then CNA education there. After getting her CNA license, she worked at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL.

She later moved back to Rock Rapids, where she worked at the nursing home. Paulina was always there to help anyone and cared for many of her family members and friends throughout the years. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and handiwork. Paulina will be remembered for her special apple sauce and jam she made. She had a love for flowers, plants, gardening and feeding the birds.

Paulina is survived by four siblings: Wilbert (Helen) Knobloch of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Wilma Hoogeveen of Rock Rapids, Violet (Ray) Luthi of Pittsburg, KS, and Adolph (Jean) Knobloch of Algona, Iowa; two sisters-in-law: Phylis Knobloch of Peoria, IL and Vera Knobloch of Lester, IA; along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dietrich and Julia Knobloch; five sisters: Julia, Emma, Elizabeth, Lydia and Emelie; and five brothers: Ernst, Albert, Dietrich, Benjamin and Earl.
