Biography--

George, Iowa - Eunice Becker, age 69 of George, died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in George.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George with Rev. Bryan Anderson and Oryn Meinerts officiating. Burial will take place prior to the service at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, Iowa.

Eunice Becker was born October 25, 1946 in Hull, IA to Jacob and Hilda (Meinerts) Jordan. She was raised in George, Iowa, and graduated from George High School. Eunice continued her education attending secretarial school in Omaha, NE. Upon graduation she was recruited with Western Union, a job that took her and three of her girlfriends to New York City. It was there that she met and married Bill Becker.

In 1970 they moved to Albuquerque NM. She had several secretarial jobs before going to work at Sandia Laboratories in the Technical Library. In 1994 she moved back to George where she began her work as a secretary with the George Community School. In May of 2014 after 20 years she retired.

We will always remember her smile and her soft touch playing the piano. She had a beautiful voice and was a blessing to many. One of her favorite pass times was playing dominos and board games. She loved the lake and could sit for hours looking out over the water. Eunice also had a way with little kids and loved nursery duty at the church. She had a knack of holding them and singing them to sleep.

Eunice is survived by her brother, Roger (Marilyn) Jordan of Orange City, IA; sisters, Elaine (Larry) Nagel of Sioux Falls, SD, and Miriam (Bob Barrows) Jordan of Knoxville, TN; sister-in-law, Peg Jordan of Brookings, SD; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Hilda Jordan; and brother, Nathan Jordan.
