Biography--

Sibley, Iowa - Dora Meyer age 80 of Sibley, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Sunset Cottage in Worthington, Minnesota.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, with Reverend Terry Simm officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley.

The Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley is handling arrangements.

Dora Meyer was born on February 21, 1935 in rural George, Iowa, the daughter of John G. and Bena (Lursen) Hinrichs. She grew up north of George and attended country school there. Dora moved to Sibley in 1954.

On October 8, 1960, Dora was united in marriage to John Meyer in Worthington, Minn. To this union one son Randall was born. Before her son was born Dora worked for Priebe and Sons in Sibley. Dora enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband after his retirement. She will be greatly missed.

Dora is survived by her son, Randall John Meyer of Sibley, IA; grandson, Christopher John Meyer of Round Lake, MN; two sisters, Clara Kruger of George, IA, and Mary (Ralph) Turner of Ramona, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bena Hinrichs; husband, John Meyer; and four siblings: George Hinrichs, Sena Hassebroek, Alice Johnson and John H. Hinrichs.
