Peter Dammer, 85, of Rock Rapids died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids.

Services were Monday at First Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Pleasantview Cemetery, Little Rock.

Mr. Dammer was born Aug. 28, 1918, at Brookings, S.D., the son of Peter and Flora (Hutt) Dammer. He grew up and attended schools in Nobles County, Minn., and Lyon County.

On Oct. 10, 1940, she married Marie Herding at George. They farmed near Rushmore, Minn., and Little Rock before moving to Rock Rapids in 1967 where he worked for Niessink Implement and operated his own corn sheller. He also drove truck for several individuals and companies. When he was 63, he purchased his own truck and began Dammer Trucking which he operated until he retired in 1994.

Survivors include his wife; one son, David of Rock Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Beverly) Eilertson of Huron, S.D., and Mrs. Larry (Phyllis) Rogers of Worthington, Minn.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Jennie Peters of Little Rock and Mrs. Eldon (Florence) Junkermeier of Chandler, Ariz.
