November 28, 1926 - August 15, 2015

Rock Valley, Iowa - Harold Kosters, 88 of Rock Valley died Saturday, August 15, 2015, at the Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Trinity Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Stanley Groothof officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6:00-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Trinity Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley. Harold was born November 28, 1926 in Doon, Iowa to Henry and Nellie (Van Engen) Kosters. He attended Doon Christian through the 8th grade. On October 1, 1947, Harold was united in marriage to Alice Bajema in Rock Valley. Together the couple farmed north of Doon until 2000 when they retired to Rock Valley. Harold served as a deacon at Doon Christian Reformed Church and as a board member at Doon Christian School. Harold enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, fishing, and playing pool with Alice. Harold had a love for the Minnesota Twins and traveling, especially wintering in Arizona for 8 years.

Harold is survived by his wife Alice; children, Judy (Everet) Vermeer of Rock Valley, Iowa, Carol (Tim) Hull of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Dave (Mary) Kosters of Doon, Iowa; twin sister, Hermina Diekevers of Hospers, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John (Lucille) Kosters; and sisters, Jeanette (Mynard) Van Tol and Henrietta (Del) Faber.
