Alfred Reutter, age 75 of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and formerly from Rockville, Connecticut, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 15th at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Lester, Iowa.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 14th with family present from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester.

Alfred G. Reutter was born May 21, 1940 in Rockville, Connecticut, to Albert and Lydia (Helming) Reutter. He was raised and received his education in Rockville. On February 19, 1989 he was united in marriage to Barbara Metzger in Lester, Iowa. The couple lived in Tolland, CT from 1989 until relocating to Rock Rapids in 2007. Alfred was a bank examiner for the state of Connecticut. He retired in 1995. Alfred was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and assisting others with business matters. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Metzger Reutter of Rock Rapids; sister, Joan (Loren) Knapp of Eureka, IL; brother, David (Ann) Reutter of Tolland, CT; brother-in-law, Everett (Nancy) Gerber of Ellington, CT; and sister-in-law, Marion Reutter of Vernon, CT; and many special nieces and nephews.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lydia; sister, Phyllis Gerber; and brother, Alden Reutter.
