Ted Venenga - May 15, 1923 - June 12, 2015

Ted Venenga age 92 of Little Rock, IA died Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, with Pastor Donald Vanderlip officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock.
Visitation will be Monday, June 15th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Little Rock.

Ted Venenga was born May 15, 1923 to Bert and Jesse (Boyenga) Venenga. He was raised on the home place northeast of Little Rock, in Osceola County, IA, and attended country school through the 8th grade.

On January 28, 1943 he was united in marriage to Louise Christians at the Salem Reformed Church parsonage. Ted and Louise were married 65 years with the majority of their married years 1 mile north, ¾ mile east of Little Rock. After Louise’s death, Ted continued to live on the family farm until present. Ted attended Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. During his life, Ted enjoyed farming for many years. He was proud of his many chores, as he raised hogs, sheep, and cattle. Milking the cows was his passion for 37 years, with the yard full of Holsteins. Ted looked forward to annual trips to Branson with grandchildren, enjoying many music shows each year. The grandchildren have many lasting memories from these vacations. Ted was a very loving and supportive father to his four daughters. Some of his favorite family traditions included weekly Sunday dinners, birthday celebrations, and holiday gatherings. Ted left an example of patience and love for his family, which could never be matched. He will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

This past Friday, June 12, Ted passed away at Osceola Community Hospital at the age of 92. He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Venenga of Little Rock, IA, Linda (Glen) Kruger of Dell Rapids, SD, Jolene (Mike) Hilbrands of Sioux Falls, SD, and Judy Marchand of Sioux Falls, SD; 11 grandchildren, Karla and Ben Gruis, Kevin and Jennifer Kruger, Kristina and Don Vanderlip, Kraig and Kelli Kruger, Nathan and Miranda Hilbrands, Lucas Marchand, Katie and Tim Kruse, Jessica Marchand, Kelli and Sean Fantroy, Kari Hilbrands, Sarah Marchand; 9 great-grandchildren, Brett Gruis, Kade Gruis, Braden Gruis, Amy Kruger, Claire Kruger, Madisyn Vanderlip, Hudsen Vanderlip, Katelynn Kruger, and Camden Kruger.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Jesse Venenga; wife, Louise; 3 brothers; and son-in-law, Pat Marchand.
