William "Dale' Thiesse, 72, of Little Rock died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Avera McKennan Hospice Unit, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Services were Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Little Rock, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mr. Thiesse was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Lyon County, the son of William and Hannah (Christians) Thiesse. He attended country school and was a 1950 graduate of Little Rock Community School. He served in the army from 1952-54.

On Aug. 8, 1955, he married Joanne Deegan. He farmed and was employed at Bennie's 66 Service, was a mechanic for Lyon County and a Chrysler dealership in Rock Rapids, was parts manager for Don Hubbard Implement in Rock Rapids and hauled milk for AMPI from Sibley to Le Mars. He also operated his own shop, Dale's Repair, in Little Rock and helped his son remodel houses.

At First Presbyterian Church, he served as elder and trustee. He was a member of Van Anne-Fields VFW Post #6960 in Rock Rapids.

Survivors include his wife; one son, David of Vermillion, S.D.; four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Patricia) Hindt of Festus, Mo., Mrs. Bill (Cheri Mormann) Marchand of Biwabik, Minn., Mrs. Robert (Mary) Banker of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Jim (Linda) Kannegieter of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson and two sisters, Jeanne Van Briesen and Mrs. Hank (Lois) Mahlman, both of Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
