Connie Scholten, 55, of Inwood, Iowa, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her residence after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at the First Reformed Church in Inwood, Iowa with Rev. Rob Horstman officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Porter Funeral Home in Inwood.

Life Legacy--

Connie was born August 20, 1959 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Cozyn and Nellie (Zomer) Rozeboom. She graduated from the West Lyon High School in 1977. On September 19, 1979 Connie married Dennis “Red” Scholten at Inspiration Hills. Together they lived in Inwood, Iowa and were members of the First Reformed Church. Connie had various occupations throughout her life which included being a homemaker, doing dispatch for Scholten Trucking, owning and operating the Inwood Diner, and most recently a cook at Fellowship Village.

Connie had a passion for cooking, spending time with the residents at Fellowship Village, and enjoyed going to the races, camping, playing cards and golfing. Sunday dinners and Christmas time were always a special treat as she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Connie is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Crystal (Jon) Ewoniuk of Castle Rock, Colorado and their children, Emma and Adam, Kenny (Aimee) Scholten of Inwood, and their children Sophie, Toni, and Kasey, Tiffany (Scott) Blom of Inwood and their child Justine, Mindy (Chris) Lapka of Inwood and their children Caitlyn, Meg, and Charles, and Patrick (Samantha) Scholten of Inwood; mother, Nellie Rozeboom of Inwood; sisters, Wilma (John) Barrett of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Joyce Rozeboom of Canton, South Dakota, Norma (Lloyd) Winters of Hull, Iowa, Linda (Gary) Larson of Hartford, South Dakota; and brothers, LeRoy (Marcia) Rozeboom and Harvey Rozeboom all of Inwood, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cozyn Rozeboom; and father and mother-in-law, James and Greta Scholten.
