Donald "Boyke" DeBerg, 83, of Little Rock died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Hospice Cottage, Luverne, Minn.

Memorial services were Saturday at Salem Reformed Church, Little Rock, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mr. DeBerg was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Little Rock, the son of Tom and Grace (Kruse) DeBerg. He grew up and attended school in Little Rock.

He served in the army from 1942-1947.

On Dec. 5, 1953, he married Betty Jane Green of Cherokee. He worked for area farmers, drove truck for Jansma Cattle Co., Rock Rapids, three years, was manager of Voss Elevater, Chatsworth, five years, worked at AMPI in Sibley and drove a milk route five years, and did road construction for Judd Brown, Mankato, Minn., 20 years, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Marlan of Ellsworth, Minn., and Darvin of Heron Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Lisa Blackburn of Maplewood, Minn., and Mrs. Mike (Mary) Bossler of Grain Valley, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Darrell (Lynn) Egger of Omaha, Neb.; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandsons and three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Calsbeek of Sibley, JoAnn Folkens of Rock Rapids and Mrs. John (Delores) Van Dyk of Chili, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dennis, and two sisters, Grace and Gertrude Wiertzema.
